1. "Cultural"
Culture plays a big role in how someone might interpret color and symbols. In different countries different color and symbols mean different things. Take as an example funerals. In the U.S. people commonly wear black for funerals whereas in china they wear white. The black would be a focus on the sombre and death of the person whereas in China the white would represent a sort of innocence and less attachment to the death of the person.
2. "Natural Symbols"
Symbols such as ones for fire or gestures like you would make for eating would be more natural symbols. They are symbols that most people can relate to and can understand.
3. "Color"
Color can mean different things to different cultures. As an example you can take green and what it means in the U.S. For most people here green is reminiscent of money or greed whereas in some Latin countries green alludes to "horny."
